I took me a year, but I realized owning a Civic Coupe and a Porsche 944 was redundant. I don't need two vehicles that offer no versatility whatsoever, the 944 actually has more cargo space than the Civic. So I bought a used Pathfinder to eventually replace the Civic.
The truck in question is a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder SE; the middle of the road model so to speak. Picked it up for $500 from my dad, who bought it off a buddy of mine for $500 in October. My dad never got around to doing any of the work to it so he never actually drove it. It's rung up 190,000kms so far. Needs a front brake job, an O2 sensor and minor cosmetic work. Other than that it runs and drives like a dream. The only downside: It's the 3.3L, not the 3.5L. And it's an Automatic. my first auto in 4 years...

Haha, predictable Canadian.
But nice buy, a sports car and a SUV is what I want, so I'm jelly.

there is a certain "thing" about these old Japanese SUVs. I have a 97 Montero and it's similar to your pathfinder - boxy, with big no-nonsense interior pieces. Compare Japanese and American SUVs of the same era and you'll see what I mean

I needs a new front bumper (current one is cracked) and a few small rust spots cleaned up. Other than that I'm going to clean up the rims and paint them black, and look for a factory Nissan bush bar.

I swear they put crack in it. I can't physically live without their coffee.

I'm working on a full story about my 944. Basically it's an '84 that I use as a DD in the summer.

Pathfinders' are the shit, the first gen was a superbly capable offroader with a great four wheel drive system. I will drive mine til the day I die.

Growing up my dad had two first gen Pathfinders. He had an '87, fully loaded for like 6 years then had a base model '88. Both two doors. Best trucks in the world, honestly. I would have bought a first gen two door if I could find one for a reasonable price.

WELCOME TO THE R50 PATHFINDER CLUB!
I've been driving around in a 2000 pathfinder XE (the base model, 3.3L, RWD) since 2009, and I spent my childhood growing up in back seat. currently my car has around 131,000 miles/211,000 Kilometers.
My Pathfinder is a great SUV. I drive over terrible roads everyday and nothing breaks. At just under 15 feet long, it's the only car that hold three people in the trunk and still fit in parking spaces that new altima's and fusions have to pass on. It's nice enough not to be considered a beater, but it's still tough enough to be treated like somebody who snitched on the mob. Since you have the 4 wheel drive version, your pathfinder should be damn near unstoppable.
Is the KBB/NADA value really $500 canadian? I would be screwed if I wanted to sell mine, but because my car has so much sentimental value it will never be sold.
